THE HEALTH AND HAPPINESS OF YOUR CAT IS PARAMOUNT

Boarding can be very stressful and we will do our best to keep your cat content and healthy while you are away. We hope you will agree that certain conditions must be followed in order to safeguard the health of all our cat guests, including yours.

  • All cats must have up to date vaccination cover against cat ‘flu and panleukopaenia (the certificate must be shown on check-in).  These require annual boosters, usually given as a single 4-in-1 combo injection. Kittens must have been given at least of the two initial combo vaccinations before boarding.

  • All cats will be checked on arrival and cannot be admitted if showing signs of infectious disease, skin problems or in a poor state of health.

  • Please use Frontline or similar before check-in if your cat goes outdoors at home. Any cat observed to have any parasite infestation during their stay (mites, fleas etc) will be treated at the owner’s cost.

  • Adult cats over the age of 7 months (both male and female) can only be accepted for boarding if they have been spay/neutered.  The spraying behaviour of intact males presents an infectious hazard while intact females 'on heat' exhibit disruptive 'calling' that disturbs the peace and harmony of the Cattery!

  • On our part, all units and equipment are disinfected to ensure good hygiene. Also, for their own protection, boarding cats have no contact with outside animals or cats in other units. This is ensured by our safety corridor and transparent sneeze barriers. Please be aware that while we will take every care to safeguard the health and security of your cat, boarding is accepted at your own risk.

IMPORTANT NOTICE - VACCINATIONS - WE STILL REQUIRE ANNUAL BOOSTERS

Has your cat been kept up to date with vaccinations? (preferably completed 2 weeks before boarding, to allow time for your cat's immune system to build up)

Kittens should have had at least two of the initial basic combo vaccines before boarding. A booster should be given 12 months later and repeated within the year before boarding. Adults need a booster within the year before boarding. As this is a multi-cat facility we require these vaccinations to be kept up to date even if your cat only stays indoor at home. This is still the best way we can monitor and safeguard the health of all boarders and is the boarding cattery recommendation of International Cat Care (formerly Feline Advisory Bureau, UK). Please call to discuss our policy and/or your cat's vaccination status if you are in any doubt of your cat's vaccination cover.

You must bring a VALID CERTIFICATE on arrival.  Our regular clients are required to show proof of current vaccination. Your cat will not be admitted without it!

VETERINARY CARE

We do not accept sick cats or those with communicable diseases but if your cat has medication for a general or age-related condition please discuss with us.  There may be an extra daily charge to give medication. We are sorry we cannot accept cats requiring injectable meds eg diabetic cats on insulin.

In the unlikely event that your cat becomes unwell during its’ holiday and, in our opinion, requires veterinary attention then this will be arranged. We will first discuss concerns with you (or your chosen emergency contact person) if possible then refer to our regular vet (who may liaise with your cat’s own vet if indicated). This will be at the owner’s cost.
